SAN MATEO, Calif. – April 6, 2016 – Guavus, Inc., a leading provider of big data analytics applications for operational intelligence, today announced that Pirjo Tuomi has joined the company as Vice President of Sales, Cable. Ms. Tuomi, a proven sales leader will head Guavus’ cable global sales team, working closely with operator customers around the world.

Ms. Tuomi is a 20-year sales veteran in the telecommunications and cable industry. She spent the last six years at Aurora Networks (now part of ARRIS), most recently as Vice President of Worldwide Sales where she nearly doubled global revenues to over $300M for the company’s advanced, next-generation optical transport and access systems through organic growth and acquisition. Previously, she served as Senior Vice President of Worldwide Field Operations at Vello Systems, a provider of optical transport and DWDM technologies, driving annual revenues of more than 10 Million dollars with cable and telecom operators. Prior to Vello, Pirjo held management positions with BigBand Networks/ADC/Broadband Access Systems taking the company to an IPO and Nortel, ICL Data/Nokia Data. During her tenure at Finnish Telecom, now TeliaSonera, she helped establish one of the first router networks and commercial email systems in Finland and all of Europe. She holds a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in Computer Science and Telecommunications from Helsinki University, and an MBA from Northeastern University.
